Promising New Trailers

With film and OTT content dropping online one after the other, let’s take a look at some of the new trailers that look truly promising.

Kottukkaali (The Adamant Girl)

P S Vinothraj’s second film, after the excellent Koozhangal (Pebbles), stars Anna Ben and Soori (after his roles in Viduthalai and Garudan, the comedic actor is a force to be reckoned with in the dramatic space).

The trailer is cut with no background score, just sounds, and we see a group of people traveling across rural Tamil Nadu with a silent girl in tow, with no true reveal of the story.

It’s exciting, new and original.

Trap

Though the movie is already out this week, this trailer is worth mentioning here.

M Night Shyamalan’s back. And how. Set in a concert where a serial killer is trapped with his daughter, the trailer promises a battle of wits between Josh Hartnett, who plays the serial killer (no spoilers here!) and the law enforcement, looking to fish him out.

Expect some taut moments and some signature Shyamalan twists.

Kanguva (Tamil, Hindi, other languages)

This new film from Siva, produced by Studio Green looks spectacular.

Starring Suriya and Bobby Deol (what a career comeback he’s having after Animal), this is a period drama on the lines of Apocalypto and Baahubali (strange mix I know, but look at the trailer!), with some exciting action.

Khel Khel Mein

This Akshay Kumar vehicle, that finds him returning to comedy where he’s been largely successful even amongst a recent spate of flops, also stars Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor amongst others.

A remake once again (of the Italian film Perfect Strangers), the premise seems interesting and if done well, should do well with audiences.
